Samuel J. Meisels, EdD explains what he considers the biggest challenge to providing excellent programs for US children. Meisels was the president of the Erikson Institute from 2002-2013. He is an emeritus professor of education at the University of Michigan and was on the faculty at Michigan for 21 years. In 2013, he became the founding executive director of the Buffett Early Childhood Institute at the University of Nebraska.
