Austrian mom calls parental leave policies in the U.S. “a complete joke” compared to Europe

Carmen Lloyd, a California resident from Austria with a young child, reflects on the disparity between services she received in the United States compared to those provided in Austria. She concludes that while what we may have it better in California than other states, from a global perspective, it’s a complete joke. Carmen has joined For Our Babies in support of creating a better beginning for babies who are born in the United States.

    The content is incredibly moving. The video material is excellent. Thank you for taking the lead on such an important concept – that the early caregiving experience matters to both the babies and the parents. This series is terrific and should be shared across the country.
